Yelena Tyo

DESIGN IS A 
WAY OF LIFE

Yelena was born in Almaty, in Kazakhstan in 1987. She started studying fine arts at the age of six, and studied architecture in Kazakhstan. She was working in architectural firms when she decided to switch to illustration and photography. At the moment she works at an animation studio as a 2D animator and graphic designer. She is still dedicated to fine arts and takes an interest in traditional arts, as a means to encounter humanity. She enjoys discovering the essence of ancestral truth and broadening her horizons. This isn’t a hobby; it’s a way of life. She took part in the TASA Project “Ligações” international creative residence. She currently works as a freelance designer and illustrator.
