SUSTAINABILITY AND
LOW TECHNOLOGIES
Having concluded her bachelor’s degree in product design at the faculty of architecture in Bratislava, Slovakia, Vanda spent the first year of her master’s degree at the faculty of fine arts of Lisbon University as part of the ERASMUS scheme. She came into contact with “design thinking” through her professor, André Gouveia, and decided to complete her master’s degree in Lisbon. Adding to her knowledge of design thinking, service design the field of ceramics, she then took part in the TASA Project “Ligações” international creative residence. Her master’s thesis, developed at the faculty of fine arts of Lisbon University, was on sustainable and low tech design process, including craft techniques. Entitled “Usage of Kitchen Appliances for Manufacturing Products in Kitchen Environments”, in it she developed products from kitchen biowaste. She is currently working in her design studio back is Bratislava, Slovakia.
